have you heard a lot about google? no real reason to expand in detail on such a basic question... so...
short answer... "RAID" is now used as an umbrella term for computer data storage schemes that can divide and replicate data among multiple hard disk drives. Would you like to know more?

RAID 0 is basically combining the speed of 2 or more hdds. Apps will install faster, open faster, Windows tends to boot faster, etc.

you also double your chances of a physical failure destroying ALL of your data on that raid 0 set...

Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks
You would've been better off asking how exactly to set one up for your specific board and what you'll need to do it, and asking a couple more in depth questions ![]() There are all kinds of different RAID arrays. The Wiki page for it on Wikipedia is really decent... Has lots of nice info.

The risk of physical failure of all drives is now based on the first drive to go.... it's not the same as doubling the chance of failure.

Anyway, ANOTHER "what is RAID?" thread. At this point, search this site, b/c there was another thread created just a few days ago, or go to wikipedia, which does a pretty good job explaining RAID.
