Default Free hard drive performance app?

I just picked up a SAMSUNG Spinpoint and want to test the read/write performance against my existing drives. Any recommendations for a good, free performance app?

Thanks,

HDTune or HDTach. They're both shareware, but works fine for the most part.

HDTach is faster, but for me with Vista only runs in XP compatible mode. Free versions of both don't do write tests.

Sorry, I did not see the write requirement. hdparm in Cygwin might do it.

*EDIT*

Looks like there's a native version of hdparm for Windows:

I just ran HDTune on a brand new Samsung Spinpoint F3 (500GB), and got the following results. I was expecting faster read performance to be honest. Can I do better than this drive for under $100?

That's actually not bad for a single drive. Remember it's not going to compare at all to your RAIDed Raptors.

Actually, my RAID Raptors perform much worse. Here's the performance on those drives...this makes no sense to me.

Perhaps I should run the test in SAFE MODE to eliminate any interference from other programs.
