Default Think i messed up and missed an amazing deal

So i was on newegg.ca earlier to order some ram, they had the black friday sales up and wow some amazing prices, intel x25-m's 80GB g2 drives for 225.99 CAD shipped!!

Put two in my cart and took an hour to mull it over (still trying to get over the sticker shock on my 5970, worse price ever), was planning on getting some SSD's in 6 months or so... when i came to the conclusion that the price was too good to pass up and came back looking to order they where all sold out.

Better to wait or did i mess up?

Unrelated subject, anyone know when trim will support SSD's in raid0?

I say it's best to wait. I really don't think the increased performance is worth the cost over what you currently have.

Don't get me wrong, I'm saving up some pennies for a similar setup and I'll grab whatever is available when I'm ready to buy - but I'm impatient and fairly impractical with my own wallet.

Weird how I'm better with other people's money than my own. *sigh*

With deals as good as Newegg's have been today, you almost have to make up your mind before whether or not you're going to commit to the buy.

I did just that with a 46" Sharp TV. 2 hours later it sold out.

Thank God I put it in a wish list and checked on it right after 3PM PST.

i wouldn't worry about it too much. prices will come down eventually on ssd's. if there is one good deal, more will follow.

Pretty much my motto for Black Friday in general. Not worth going out just because in 6 months many of those prices will be easy to come by - if they aren't already.

Who ever person wanted an SSD and especially wanted the intel g2 x-25m that was the best time to get it. That was a great deal from newegg, $214 for the retail package that includes a 3.5 converter. The prices of SSD has steadily gone up the last couple of months.
