Hey
Ok im about to go out and buy another HDD for raid

I think i found the same on but im not sure

I have a Maxtor DiamondMax 23 500GB

I found a Seagate Diamond Max 23 500GB

But seagate and maxtor are the same company right?

So is the

Maxtor Diamond Max 23 500GB
The same as the
SeaGate Diamond Max 23 500GB

Seagate did buy Maxtor and i'd assume that they would continue to produce Maxtor drives, just with Seagate name.

If you require to RAID the above drives, it will work fine. You can RAID any drive to be honest (mix and match) but you not get the benefit of saying have two identical drives.

They will have the same parts etc, so you will be ok for RAIDing the above drives.

They are the same, but have different firmware. Won't make a difference..
