that sounds nice but i cant help but think why would you buy that card when processors now cant even keep up with it lmao...

in a couple months you will have to drop a grand so your cpu doesnt bottleneck it...

i look forward to seeing how bad ATI's new card owns this one though

I predict...not one bit. Well, at least until you do drop that $1000 on a CPU!

The current situation is like sticking a 6600GT or a 7800GS on a Pentium 3. Does not matter how much faster one is; they'll both be highly bottlenecked.

Just found this... jonnyguru said that the box in which BFG 8800GTX came in claimed you should have 30a available on the 12v rail for the system

http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266

Some prices he included

Quote:
* XFX 8800GTS 640MB 500MHz $509
* XFX 8800GTX 768MB 570MHz $679
* eVGA VCX N821 8800GTS 640MB $499
* eVGA VCX N831 8800GTX 768MB $669
* Asus VCX EN8800GTS/HTDP 640MB $459
* Asus VCX EN8800GTX/HTDP 768MB $609
* MSI VCX NX8800GTS 640MB $519
* MSI VCX NX8800GTX 768MB $689
* BFG VCX 8800GTS 640MB $499
* BFG VCX 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 $679

These prices are based on my cost plus your typical "mom and pop" VAR markup. Some retail store (Best Buy, CompUSA) prices may be higher. With back end rebates, co-op, etc., some e-tail (Newegg, Tiger, etc.) will likely be lower.
=)
