Slower. My 3700+ beats that in Super Pi by about a second at 3.1 Ghz. That might be because of my RAM, though.

Thats a lovely low VCore for a quite decent speed. o=

1.416 is NOT low vcore for a Core CPU.......that's well over the factory specs for a Core 2 Duo, and it's only a 66FSB increase.......it's using a 12 multi in that screenshot to get the higher clock speed...... If they fold well, and are cheap and there may be room in my house for one........

Just get the HD555's.

Very high Vcore indeed. People can get 3.5ghz on a Core2Duo at that voltage.

they should add hyper threading to this, cuz its only 1 core...

Don't think they can get Hyperthreading on the Core architecture. AFAIK Hyperthreading was possible on Netburst because of the super duper long pipelines.

If this thing is sub-100s, I think I just might have found the perfect balance between performance and price for my old school dad. He literally refuses to get off of his Windows ME machine thats equipped with an 800Mhz Celeron and 128MBs of RAM yet wants to have a faster computer...

Forget the Celeron and RAM, just get him off Windows ME!

It actually makes me wonder why the cache is so low. The size of the cache will probably increase to 1 or 2M with better models, but the purpose of making a celeron is to be able to sell the "duds", or lower binned chips. What happens in the manufacturing process is that, sometimes chips are manufactured with defects, AKA what we know as the Celeron. Well, the companys don't just throw away the "duds", they sell them at a lower spec and lower price. This one, i'd say it should sell at a $99 or less price point.
