Default Gold plating.

Gold is one of the best metallic conductors of electric current, so to maintain a 'purer' signal, gold plating is used on the connectors. Gold also doesnt get surface oxidized as easily as copper or some of the other metals, so it conducts electricity better, over a longer period of time.

This is all in theory.

I dont think it makes a bit of a difference if your USB connectors are gold plated or not, in real life.

The Keyboard looks okay. I like the functionality of it all, but that mouse is awful.

Like a bad 80s Sci Fi movie.

I have been enjoying my Saitek Eclipse for a long time, although I've worn off the keys on it lol. And it's hard to see some of the letters on the keys. Saitek makes great products. I won't trade my Logitech MX518 mouse though...it is a great mouse. I will probably just get some new keys for this Eclipse keyboard...the new one looks very nice though hehe.

Love the mouse aesthetic, but I have an MX Revolution, why would I use anything else.

Just last night I made the decision to but a G15 over a Das Keyboard 2, but now I am going to have to re-weigh this decision. Has anyone seen the new G15 on the logitech website? does anyone have one or know of a review? I like the sleeker logitech look, Saitek continues to have the uber-geek thing going, all of their boards scream geek; logitech boards could be something other than that...

IDK, I like the look. If they make it so it can piggyback off of the G15's data feeds (the stuff on the lcd could use the same files) then there will be a big issue for Logitech. I like the look a lot!

+ on mouse and + on KB though. Nice. Now I have 3 to decide from...
