Oh this is nice, 2900Pro comes out, now this is coming out, then a 2950Pro... Oh! The competition! Drive down those prices, baby.

That 8800GT looks very nice, even beating the 8800GTX in that one test (although it is at a slightly lower resolution that the other tests where the 8800GTX won, but still!). Very nice, looks quite promising indeed! Let's hope that the price is in the under-$250 range for the one with the smaller memory on it, and hopefully $300 (more likely $350) for the one with larger memory... =/
Well, I'm assuming they'll make the card with two different memory capacities. They always do... I assume a 256MB and 512MB? That's my guess. Or have they already released that information?

Somewhere I read that the 256mb is 200, the 512mb is 250, and the 1gb is 300.

That sounds about right, I would think. I'd probably just get a 512mb.

Yeah, I probably will too, 300 bucks just seems like too much for a video card. 250 is probably always going to be my maximum.

How does it beat a GTX? It has less SP than a GTX, less vram, slower clock...it doesn't add up, oh and saying "low res" doesn't help.

so there is gonna be a 1gb card for this? any specs on it? $300 really is quite incredible for what your getting. I'm wondering what size ram they used for that card as well.

It does sound like h4x, but Norton probably just decided to update mid-benchmark

I think the 512 version was used in this, for some benchmarks the scores between the GTS640 and GT are close, but then again some are far apart. It's safe to say it's not the 256. If it is...then damn.

Also, someone mentioned that nvidia announced defeat in this price range...does that mean the 2950Pro will be far superior? How would they know it's better...the 2950s are not released yet...unless they're talking about the 2900 Pro, which doesn't make sense cause the 2900XT doesn't match it...

its the 512mb version of the card.

there are 2 8800gts in the benchmark, one is listed as 320mb, now guess what the other is.

the "how does it beat the gtx blabla less sp blabla lower clocks" question isn't worth answering imo.

alltho i hope those benchmarks are real, i don't trust them a 100% , aslong as i don't see a site like toms hw or vrzone etc doing the benchmarks.
