3GHZ max, my Windsor will get better performance in applications (noting performance per clock on Phenom is not much higher at ALL then that of the Athlon X2 line, i saw a 5600+ taking on a 2.4ghz Phenom and in things other then media encoding [5600+ absolutely dominated in media encoding] they were so close it was just ridiculous.) with no more then 2 threads if start overclocking by way of pure clockage. The 6400+ has AMD's next gen owned if you overclock it and it costs less... AMD really has failed on this thing...

That's the 6000+, not the 6400+, but the Phenom had a noticeably higher performance.

They were using a 5600+ in that benchmark. Which is exactly what i base my opinion on.

Below i have included the benchmark image, i have highlighted the area showing it IS a 5600+.

If the 5600+ can beat the Phenom clock-for-clock, and the Phenom in almost every single benchmark I've read stays within 10% of the performance of a q6600 clock-for-clock, then why cant the 5600+ beat a q6600?

Edit: You're cherrypicking your CPU results Licht, heres a much better CPU test, that will give you a much better idea of the real-world performance of the Phenom vs the Q6600... Feel free to change the Q6600 to a 5600+ too if you want, and watch it get stomped in every single one of the benchmarks.

I too am tired of the intel trolling.

I really could care less if my opty gets owned in 3dE-Penis3000.. i dont give a frick about benchmarks and having the fastest rig in the solar system. My opty plays every game i own FINE and thats what i need. I dont have a stop watch on my desk to time how long it takes to encode a video, or load a map. I dont even fully utilize it yet so why should i get a quad core?

For you people who have to ever growing need to be better than everyone else go right ahead and blow your money every month. I havent upgraded hardware in five months and im not dead.. you should try having a life, if feels good.

Im not even joking, if your just going to post "c2d is faster" shut the hell up and play a game or something. we freaking know the c2Q is better than the phenom.. WE KNOW. So you dont have to post it in EVERY DAMN THREAD.

Every 3.0ghz Phenom I've read about, be it in the previews, or by users who've overclocked, they've all used 1.5v. I want to know if that much vcore is really necessary.

Why did the only increase the multiplier?! Crazy, of course its gonna need 1.5 voltage to run x15 multi, intel fanboys seem to be missing that. What multi does the Q6600 run at, I'll tell you one thing, sure as hell ain't 15! BTW assuming the got the fsb to 212 (which was the wall) 15x 212 = 3.180 Ghz which is respectable for a quad.

I've been reading that most Phenom owners have hit a wall at 230mhz. Though Hardocp seems to have a much lower wall. Still would have been nice for them to try going higher with the FSB, but how much of a difference would it really make?
