By the time your talking x15 multiplier a lot. 230 x 15 is already 3.45GHz, and one guy has his phenom running at 250 fsb which with a x15 multi would be 3.75Ghz, so as you can see as the multiplier increases the clocks really start to stack up.

Quite a stupid arguement really. I mean all because a company doesn't have as much money as another for R&D, is not gonna make me wanna buy it. I'm not gonna buy a cpu with my hard earned dollars because I feel sympathy for a company because they have less money; I'm buying what is the very best. If all people thought like you and factored in their "feelings" when buying performance parts, competition would be gone.

part.... If I had the money for a new motherboard AND a quad, of course I would get a C2Q, that being said, I ALSO would buy a C2Q if AMD's quads didn't perform almost DEAD ON with the quads from Intel, (A company with 10x the R&D budget) which they do.

I never once said I was going to buy a phenom because I felt sorry for AMD, Learn to read, then learn to comprehend.

Just because a CPU has a certain multiplier and is capable of a certain HT (or FSB) doesn't mean they are stable together. My 3800 has a 10x multi and my Biostar is capable of a 350 HT speed, doesn't mean I can run the CPU at 3500 mhz.

the review gives no number, stats, information about the proc except 3.0ghz....

UUUMMMMMM EXCUSE ME... quite a few of the B3 Q6600's weren't a whole lot better bud.

The G0 Q6600's are a whole different story but what is to say that the next revision of the Phenom won't be able to hit 3.2 on air and 3.5 on water just like my Q6600 G0? Heck, I am afraid to go past 3.6 anyways for fear of popping the vregs around the socket.

If AMD gets Phenoms that will hit over 3ghz reliably, and prices on the 790fx boards drop, I'd surely dump this Q6600 and go with a 3870 CF setup just for fun. Lets cut the fanboyism folks, most people on this forum would kill to have ANY quad core.

which is why im getting a phenom ASAP, hopefully a 2.2ghz one with the errata fixed and a new stepping, then, in 2 or 3 months, I'll get a 790fx or whatevers best at the time, and then finally I'll get a 3870X2 and ill run tri-crossfire, hells yeah

Dude there will always be haters out there and here in the threads. There isn't much you can do about it. I too had a lot of high hopes for AMD when I had my Athlon x2 4200+. I just couldn't wait for Phenom to pown all the Intel fan boys. But that’s not the way it turned out and I ended up selling my AM2 board and CPU not to long ago.

If you just try and stay on top of the best performing parts then you will have nothing to loose, AMD's Athlons were the best dual cores for a long time and now Intel has the best and that’s why I have an Intel CPU. Not because I hate AMD or that I like Intel, I just wanted the fastest and best overclocking dual cores out. Whether my CPU has Intel plaster on the top of it or its says AMD its not going to matter as long as it's fast, OCs well, and can handle all the hard core gaming that I will be doing.

The brand isn’t going to matter once you get a good game of _____ (Crysis for me) going only the performance. Currently AMD doesn’t have the best performance and they don’t seem to be Ocing very will But there Quad cores are really cheap and offer a lot of performance for the price.
