Default [Expreview] 9600GT Early Bench

http://en.expreview.com/?p=184

Quote:
The card’s performance is similar to 8800GS. But 8800GS is only a temporarily NVIDIA weapon fighting with ATI’s HD3850. 9600GT is a long term product for replacing the 8600GT family. So how did you think about the incoming war between HD 3850\HD 3670 and 9600GT?

Considering it's mid-range, it's not too bad, and I doubt it will cost much.

i just put my 7900GTX in my rig again, and ran 3dmark06. With my CPU score of ~6000 i still only get around ~7600.

~10k for a budget card is pretty good IMO... Plus i'll score more than that with my CPU score.

with the 4077 SM2.0 and 4087 SM3.0 scores from the 9600GT and the ~6000 from my quad, thats 14k, with a budget card i might add. I think this is going to be my next card to hold me off before i go G100 in the summer...

3850 does better than this card, and only costs $30~ more.. I think its worth the extra $$ IMO.

However, 3dmark is not a true "usable" benchmark..

FINALLY! I was most dissappointed with the 8600 series. I'm glad nvidia have picked up their socks! This looks like it will be a very good card for the money!
