3870X2 might be out but if ATI dosn't release new drivers that makes the crossfire works soon it might as well be delayed, with current drivers 3870X2 is at best equal to 2x GT SLI and at times worse than a single G92 GTS.

Eh? Its not even drivers, its in game support (notice how some games the 3870X2 got alot more frames than the Ultra, like Fear, yet had dips in other games..), and I didnt see it was worse than a G92 GTS.. In any case, AMD has the fastest SINGLE card out there, and when you crossfire regular 3870's thats their counter to 8800GT SLI.. AMD is coming out strong with their graphics division in 2008.

they should just release 9800gx2 benchmarks.. theres no point in keeping that confidential anymore - its main competitor has already been released. releasing benchmarks will only help them by keeping people from buying the 3870x2 (if its better than it) and waiting for the 9800GX2

Not really.. The 3870X2 costs less than the 9800GX2, and the 9800GX2 are G92's, as opposed to the new G100.. AMD is playing a price game right now, because thats what they can do to get sales, undercut the competition. So far Nvidia hasnt really slashed prices on anything to gain back its complete dominance either.

Also, Suicide, you wernt around in the days of the Nvidia FX vs Radeon 9 series, or the Radeon X series vs 6XXX series were you :P.

who knows, if the new nvidia cards arent.. "THAT MUCH" better... people will probably opt for the ati cards anyway as they are cheaper (or so it seems)

Who told you that 3870X2 costs less than the 9800GX2 ?

Some websites were saying that the price of 9800GX2 is $449

Oh really ??

eVGA 8800GT 512MB is now selling for $239 at newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130318

Or you can get it for $228 from here
http://www.ncixus.com/products/27704...-N801-AR/eVGA/

And it performs better than the similar priced HD3870 in most cases

They probably just want to sell more of their g92s. Why rush when there's no competition? The 3870x2 might offer some competition, but they have something in the gx2 to trump it right away.
