[TR] Samsung F1 - HDD review (1TB very fast)
I was genuinely surprised to see this how well this drive behaved, it really has sweep the floor with the other drives, including Raptors in non-server patterns.

HD Tach benches look nice. Noise level & power consumption look great. Not good as a server drive but that doesn't concern someone like me. I just might pick one up if the price is right.

I've got this exact drive, and the most notable thing about it is that it is almost impossible to hear, even while seeking. I have to put my ear within half a foot of it to hear it, and even then I'm straining pretty hard.

I read from several (although many times unreliable) newegg reviews that Samsung's own software sometimes detects errors even though there aren't any. They're supposedly working on an update.

I guess any Raid-0 of 7200 rpm HDDs made of disks released the last 2 years beats a Raptor in everything except seek times, but then again some of the users need mostly fast seek times... You need to see what kind of work you do to see if you need a Raid-0 array or a Raptor, but this an endless discussion
