It's too bad about the G92 Core. I almost had a nerdgasm when i heard the 9800GTX was coming out this march. then I found out it was G92 based, not G100.

Those cuts definitely put the 3850 in a good spot price-wise. Maybe Nvidia will cut the 9600GT price in response (pipedream i know).

I dunno about the new PLX chip for the 3870x2 though. ATI probably just putting it out because they can, not for added performance (2900 XT 1 GB memory anyone?)

What's a PLX chip?

The chip that links the 2 cards and the PCIe connector. It acts like a switch between the GPUs and the mobo.

lets hope nvidia G92 has not shown it's full potential on the 8800GTS G92 and that the 8800GTS was like a prototype and had lots of unused stream processors which will be unlocked when the 9800GTX comes out
