I was waiting for these cards to be released before I upgraded this year... but at this rate I'll be sticking to my 'ol faithful 8800GTX

the saving grace of the 9800gtx might just be its "streamlined architecture" I can confirm that they have indeed done something different (ie.streamlining) when it comes to the 9600gt, which I have been benching and gaming on most of the day. Its very puzzling as to why the performnance is so good (even with AA and AF enabled), yet on paper It would seem to not be a strong performer. Hopefully this is the case with the 8800gtx.

they didn't sell enough 8800 G92 based chips so they renamed it into the next generation nomenclature, guess why?
