When increased, it has an effect on the 9600GT. And it doesnt affect "how" the data is tranferred, your making the bus run at a higher frequency.

there are more things attached to a PCI-E bus then a video card... most use PCI-E lan cards, and SATA controllers... overclocking those is not a smart idea.

not in my computer only thing ive got in any expansion slots is my gfx card.

no. PCI clock is set seperately on most boards.

on some 8800 cards when you raise the PCI-E frequency is also raises the cards GPU voltage a tad...thus allowing better overclocks...it doesnt happen on all cards I think it was the ultras...the info is out there...
