On some boards you can change the pcie freq seperately for different slots...

i dunno bout the 'dangers' of overclocking the PCI-E frequency ..

when i had SLI i ran my cards @ 120mhz 24/7 never had a problem.

and when benching, on occasion, i set the clocks in Ntune to 3550.

FYI, 3000 was equal to setting 120mhz PCI-E in the bios..so 3550 must of been pretty high frequency, didnt kill my cards. used to game @ 3500.

Nvidia boys will understand all that **** i just said haha.

If default Pci-E clocks are 100 , then if we raise it for 10 , then this is 10% overclock for a card?

That was posted already, it is an idiotic article, caused by either drivers, software out of date, or the fact that there are different straps for the GPU core, there is a whole thread on it.

Remember different mobos will react differently to this playing with the pcie clocks. Some have no issue at all running 2110 115 or so while others just cant handle any change at all. ALot has to depend if the pci is locked to the pcie on the board and such. Most will change both when you change one even if it doesnt say that you are doing it. Others have them seperate.

Remember just back up your data and have fun.

Yep, I run 115 MHz. It normally helps OC stability with higher core clocks, especially on dual GPU especially.
A rule of thumb to use if you're running SATA hard drives is to keep it below 120 MHz. Anything higher may cause issues.
People running uber benching machines use IDE drivers and run PCI-E clocks of 150+.

well i tried it today on my backup rig, and it works. no programs say it's running at a higher clock speed so i'm not really sure how they figured out what their real clock speed was. stock i got about 11700 in 06. i couldn't get stable at anything over 115 PCI-e clock but i got a 12500 at 115. i also couldn't overclock the core using software once i had it at 115 without it crashing, but i had to overclock the memory seperatly. I tried setting it to the stock 100 and overclocking it using ATI tool and i got 750 core 2000 mem with a 12800 06 score. all the scores were with a Q6600 @ 3 Ghz. it looks to me that it's cool, but to really squeeze the most out of the card you should use software anyways.
