Think its a coincidence that intel's max storage temp is 85 / max tcase is 71(q6600 go) and the cpu will error out of prime95 at just below those temps? I don't. People just need to learn how to read the things that actually matter.
Umm yea, 71 is the max, and 90 or 85 is when it starts throttling.

For G0 x3220's (Xeons) they actually have a max temp of 85!

It is not an occasional shot to 80 that will kill it, but keeping it at that temp, or keeping it at high voltages (like what is happening with the arrogant E8400 owners that fried their chips despite warnings from Intel).

I e-mailed Arthur Liberman about the Coretemp Tjmax for M0 procs like mine. I thought I'd post what he said. Good news, I can keep Tjmax 85°C and overclock a bit more

Lol, I could be wrong, he could be wrong who knows.

I don't know what to believe. I get 70°C load with 100Tj and around 60°C with 85Tj but this info is obsolete because no one knows which is the right reading with my stepping/revision according to what Duckyho posted.

You have an e2180, all of which are M0 stepping, so your Tjunction max is 85°C.

So how can intel expect us to accurately regulate temps? Say I oc'd insanely, and didn't know it was overheating (I thought stock was mmkay for 3.6ghz!!!)...its around 80-90c...

Temps arn't showing this though, rather, they're displayed at...say 55c...

Chip fries...intel doesn't warrent...now what?
