Default [ExpRev] 9600GT 256MB review

Quote:
It is a common knowledge that 9600GT’s target rival is ATI’s Radeon HD3850. They have a quite similar price range. (because the price differs in different countries, so price discussion in this article will only use newegg price). But now many companies are going to release 9600GT 256MB, pushing G96’s price to the limit.

For now, lowest HD 3850 256MB price is at 154USD, and GeForce 9600GT 512MB is 150USD. The upcoming 9600GT 256MB may lower the price limit to as low as 130USD. Before any specification on AMD’s future pricing tactic on HD 3850 or HD 3830, let’s have a close look at the 9600GT 256MB.

sweet, looks like it could be an awesome deal to get one or two of those, the OC'ability is pretty intense with that voltage jumper, 825MHZ from 650! WOOT!

Looks like a hell of a bargain as long as you play at 16x10 with no AA/AF, or 12x10 (or 14x9) with AA/AF.

I still prefer the 8800gt. 8800gt is the best card that NVIDIA have made. You get value for your money.

And that's something you don't get with the 9600GT?

Good read though. I might pick up a 512 9600GT for my 3rd gaming machine

And they say its a G96?! HAHA this is why I laugh at Expreview. Its a G94 chip...sheesh

Don't get me wrong 9600gt is still a cool card. But it looks like a clone of 8600gt. You might as well get two 8600gt for the same performance.

I hate the 9800gx2 really over-priced over-hyped crap. Low-midrange cards ftw.

The 9600GT annihilates the 8600GT. There is no comparison
