Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I've loved the audio, albeit minus the EAX, since I replaced my X-Fi with a Xonar.

I can say what he was doing is horridly needed. I'm using Creative's drivers for Vista x64 and WMP randomly gos quiet, the speakers being used randomly changes, sound quality is variable, X-Fi doesn't work, Crashes are caused by the sound card. It is absolutely despicable for a company to have such pathetic support.

Well I don't really get it........all of my X-Fis have run fine on Vista since I started VIsta x64 in August last year. I experienced the static sound with 4Gb installed once, but I just rebooted and it was gone.....
However this is going to give them some bad publicity. They really have a point if the guy is requesting donations on their forums.

Many of the other large companies use X-Fi chipsets in their sound cards, so it may well be a similar situation if they rely on Creative for any source code?
