I made an alt over there and voiced my opinion. lolcreative. Also, anyone see the irony in their name? Creative Labs can't create any software to back up their hardware...

Don't shoot the messenger, Phil is only saying what he's being paid to. It's Creative people should be mad at, not the employees.

Bad form, Creative.
I've long thought that their products were over-rated compared to some of their competition; the CMI8788 APU (which powers the Xonar D2, although Asus calls it something else) is a much more sophisticated audio solution, at least to my ears. While I understand Creative's legal perspective, I cannot fathom why they don't want to improve their own products. Good marketing sells products, but a better product with Creative's marketing presence and influence is gold. For sure they didn't want Daniel_K to profit from their product, but that is a misleading idea if you think about it. Creative already got their money when the consumer bought the sound card. I agree with the analysis that Creative probably has something in the pipeline that they obviously want the public to buy as an improvement over their gimped X-Fis. This is nothing but corporate avarice on Creative's part.

Creative is just pissed that they are too lazy to create any drivers and blame it on one guy so they can better their efforts to make money out of it.

lol this reminds me of this one time my rig kept crashing if i had my x-fi in my computer, but it was fine when it wasn't in. So i called their support line and the guy told me to install the latest beta drivers, and to call back if that didn't fix my problem. It didn't so i called back, and they told me that they couldn't provide support because i was using beta drivers that the guy told me to use in the first place. they said that they can't provide support for beta products and if you choose to install them your on your own... no real problem i just installed the latest non beta drivers and tried again but i just gave up and took it out of the system in the end.

What I want to know is.....who ran Creative into the ground? THey've been around for a very long time......so what went wrong? Have they always been like this? I mean I used to own a Soundblaster 16 back in the day.......so they've at least been around since ~1995
