Maybe what im saying is a bit exaggerated, but I can totally seeing greedy ISPs doing it. Comcast tried it but failed, lets see who else does it -_-
You know why they failed? Not because of government intervention... because of free market. Freedom of choice is a power force. When allowed to act, tamper free, freedom will achieve wonderful results that no artificial "management" can achieve.

Whenever government gets involved prices go up, quality and choice go down. Although it seems like the obvious choice from a quick glance, careful study will reveal it is not so. Never look at the small picture.

This is simply not true. Companies react far faster to the demands of their customers than government does to the demand of the people. Companies, when in real, unregulated competition, will increase the quality and reduce the price of their product.

"Net Neutrality" is a misnomer, a play on words, designed to sound appealing. Give it some careful consideration and study the effects of similar legislation in history.

Yep. Virgin is a POS company, which is why we switched from them to Sky. Don't know if Sky is much better, but at least with them we get some ****ing customer service. It took Virgin 3 weeks to come and fix our internet, and even then my dad had to phone up a lot.

****ing ridiculous.

My gf is with them and they suck quite badly, Her net worked fine for a few weeks then it stopped and they didn't get her back online for about 3months despite a bazillion calls to call centers located anywhere where English is at best a 3rd language.

Somewhat ironically they were trialling 50m broadband at the backed of last year, Lol

i so hope they get what is coming to them... they are pretty much the worst company i have ever heard of - and i unfortunatly ended up paying them a lot of money to actually cancel the 12 month contract i had signed up to. Worst ISP there is basically.

Scroll down: http://www.dslzoneuk.net/isp_ratings.php - also, read the comments on virgin - they pretty much sum up all the problems with them.

Personally i changed to Be on the 15th this month and its amazing in comparison.

The strange things is I've been with Telewest/virgin since early 2000 and I've never had a problem with them at all, I think the longest I haven't been able to download pron errrrr i mean get on the net for is about 15 hours and that was back on dial up. It does seem that Under Virgin they are trying to roger us(their customers) HARD though

I already moved from Virgin's stupid contract full of 'bollocks' fair-usage policies and high prices, on Orange now.
