very well put. I can understand what he's saying though, but you have to look at it this way: AMD doesn't hold the most market share and is having a hard time profiting. Therefore, they can't afford to be greedy. If they did have the most market share, then of COURSE they would appear to be greedy. People love to root for the underdog.

The numbers can't be compared apples-to-apples across the product lines.
The number of SPs (stream processors) cannot be used to compare the two because each company is referring to something different when they say how many SPs are in the GPU. Here is a great article detailing the differences between the two architectures. Also, the other units that are not included in the SP count but are still very important, ROPs and TMUs, have been increased in the HD4000 series. The number of ROPs and TMUs might have been a big bottleneck for the HD3000 series so hopefully the increase will greatly improve the efficiency and performance of the HD4000s.

The increased ROP and TMU count will also greatly help the AA performance, which was the Achilles heel of the HD2k and HD3k series.

Pricing is awesome......I can't wait. I still will wait until fall or winter though......my games run great with my current set up.

This is true. I don't run more AA than 4X on most games (except Battlefield series) because I simply can't tell a difference at 1920x1080...........seriously. I compared IQ between 4X and 32X in Frontlines Fuels of War and I couldn't tell.....crazy.
However this sucks for people running lower res with a single card....they need it.

I think ROPs stayed the same, only TMUs got doubled.

*Hopes that Nvidia will bring out that Dualcore-ish super monster with 512bit interface and whatnot*

Sorry, I just dislike ATI as well as AMD...
