Sounds similar to something you've already got (by todays prices, of course).

This recent generation was actually pretty good in terms of value. But the 48xx series do look to be extremely awesome in this way.

I paid $150 for it stepping up to it, so $260 total.

Yes, I was refering to the current generation, and of course how well the future generation will do.

I look down at my 3870, it looks at me. And we both cry a little inside. Except i stopped to get hyped a few hours later.

Please do tell me how you are going to get a Phenom and an X48 to work.

not to rain on anyone's parade, but let's take a look at the past.

the HD3 series was basically the same thing; these cheap ass low prices and they sounded like they were going to RAPE nvidia. but not really, and actually some online vendors like NEWEGG gouged a ton of money out of these cards. when/if they go high in demand, they won't be 200 dollars as said.

but i'm hoping for the best, it's going to be an exciting summer.

Actually the 3870 wasn't made out to "rape" nvidia at all. At one point, AMD considered the 2900XT to be faster than the 3870.
