The current Radeon 3870 has 320 shaders, while the 8800GTX and 9800GTX have 128. The 3870 doesn't beat any of these cards.

The numbers can't be compared apples-to-apples across the product lines.

this bugs me since I bought this motherboard with the intention of 1 monster card, not SLI/crossfire... Hopefully these new cards will smoke my current one.

Hmm I see... Looking at it again, the Radeons do have much slower shader clocks.

pardon my language, but what a dumb post.

AMD wants your money just as bad as Intel or Nvidia.

hopefully ati makes the 4870x2 with 1gb of GDDR5, but the costs would be astronomical.
