I've got cox.. And lately.. I've been getting hard disconnects.. My modem would not realize it had a coaxial cable plugged into the back of it... for about 15-20 mins bare minimum... It's happened the past 3-4 days.. yesterday and the day before.... Around the same time..

Last nite.. This happened.. After about 15 attempts to reset the modem and the router.. I proceeded to stab a hotwheels car with a phillips screw driver... that's how frusterating it was

Yes they are! Why do you think they're starting this tiered service?? Because they can't keep up with the demand on their systems! They want to keep their good old copper wires and not pay to upgrade anything!

You live 1.2miles away according to a reverse DNS lookup on your IP, and trace routing it with IpLookUp

Looking up the estimated address with Google Maps shows me a house with a computer near a window. If I could get access to then NSA satellite, I could see what you were doing on it!

Makes me glad my ISP is Time Warner. I don;t use torrents anyways. It's funny with how Comcast could be able to charge more for their customers that went over the limit. But then they blocked torrents. For the most part.

In fact, I see data transfer caps as the solution to the reluctance of some to adopt broadband and drop their dialup service. I know many elderly people who only use the internet for email and a small amount of browsing. Instead of the ISPs charging based on the speed of the connection, why not charge based on the amount of data that can be transferred each month? That way grandma and grandpa can have broadband, but only pay for what they need instead of paying for dialup.
I think capping the connection is stupid. Why not cap the bittorrent data instead? That way you don't screw people over that use it for legit reasons but have mass data transfers.

Mass data transfers are only through BitTorrent, that's why
