is DDR2 16GB-able?

at my 8GB limit, still wanting more! but DDR3 is too expensive, so anyone know whether DDR2 is 16GB-able?

i figure it's all to do with memory addressing......

The limit doesn't have anything to do with DDR2 or DDR3, the limitation is in the chipset.

For every new intel chipset that is released, asus always makes a workstation version of the board. Probs why they've done this then.

Who on this planet would need 16gb of ram in a gaming PC?! WHY?! Although I do plan to go 8gb in my next one.
I don't think it is really required at this point in time but I think in 6 months 8GB might become an enthusiast level of RAM. As of now, the most intensive games and Premiere Pro take less than 3GB of ram utilization with my system. So for now, I haven't found a personal consumer level application that requires more than 4GB.
