Default [EP] Galaxy make the first low profile GeForce 9600GT “Blade”

Source

Quote:

Some HTPC users just don’t want to use a crappy 8400GS or HD 2400 in their highly polished rigs, so here is a chance: Galaxy showed us a low profile 9600GT. Click over to read more.

Though the card becomes smaller but its spec did not change a lot: G94, 8 16×32 Samsung DDR3 memory module on board, providing 256bit 512MB memory, 8 layer PCB for stability, and one HDTV and one HDMI connectors. because of the tight area, the card did not provide MIO connector for SLI but guys at Galaxy told us that the card can do a “software SLI”(but this time we don’t got a chance to see it). Don’t forget NV have done some color enhancement in driver that excucively for 9 series.

The price and availibly is not clear, but I guess it will be one of the highest low profile GFX card.

That's going straight into so many HTPC's. Looks great though, I just hope it didn't botch any performance.

Galaxy seems to have come out of nowhere. I can see them becoming very popular.

Wow, that's badass. Finally a low-profile card with a good amount of performance. Here's hoping for an early release and reasonable price.

I for one welcome our new low profile overlords. No seriously its a good idea, it would be perfect for SFF cases and case mods where space is tight.

They have actually been bought by Palit. Though, they will still have there own (Non-Palit) GPUs.

looks like there is no capability for SLI. kind of a shame in my opinion as one of the strengths of the 9600 is its scaling in SLI setups. anyway nice to see a company trying to make cards smaller rather than larger.
