So that means the new GTX 280 and 260 are high end, 9800GTX is mid range, and 9800GT is low range?!? What does that make the 9600GT? I wonder if it could be due to yield issues of the new core.

I found my 8800GT to be as good a card as I had ever tried up to that point...I'm not real big on gaming but I tried a few demanding games on it and it worked great why wouldn't it work on those same games 6 months later?. This obsession and falacy of new=better is wearing on the e-nerve.

One of the most intelligent and rational statments I have read so far.

Everyone thinks just because its new lets get it *Cough*VISTA*cough*.

Honestly, guys the 8800gt is the best price/performance ratio. The card is allows you to play older games as well as newer games. This card won't be out-dated for a while not for another 4 years. Hell have you seen any game which uses dx10 fully? no because there aren't any games which use it LOL.

Its the best card that NVIDIA have released.

Hmmm.... this is an interesting strategy. One benefit of this is video card prices for the G92 will fall (i.e. 8800GT went from $300 to $140). This would encourage SLI and maybe help NVIDIA chipset sales.
