Well not to be like really bashing Nivida but who in their right mind would spend more than 500 dollars on a graphics card?

I meant if it that is costy I want more than 50% performance.

I want to see 2-4X more powerful.

Very true, unfortunately in the computer h/w game value for money is something that's a pipe dream. Never has been never will be.

I don't mind stepping up if i can, but i can tell you this....i wouldn't buy them.

From what i understand you only have to pay the difference + shipping when you step-up so they should be pretty much free...

So your saying we need another GPU company to get more competition to lower the prices?

It would help

Nvidia can charge as they please because there isn't any real competition, but i believe this could be their undoing. ATI have every likelyhood of dominating the GPU crown this time around.

Only major issue for ATI is game support, they should easily bring the fastest card to the table but we don't want to see it being limited. Nvidia have so many optimised games it aint funny.

I just wish if they made a treaty that all game companies have to declare support for both GPU companies.
The only games I know ATi is normally ahead (not always) is the Value games.

pretty much as expected, only decently better, but has a huge advantage in mem bandwidth.. but not many things make use of it..

i think ati is happy
This is idiotic. The card is literally twice as strong as the previous single GPU flagship, and you're complaining?

its basically the same/little beter perofrmance than the 9800GX2, which is 2 9800GTX's sli.
so 2 9800GTX = GTX 280.

same for the 4870 which will be = 3870x2.

guess their goals now when making a card is to at least as fast as last generation's multigpu flagship card.
