No, the 4870 will have 512MB of GDDR5, but manufacturers can put 1GB if they like.

its nice and explained in most of the reviews but looks like the author put a ton more attention in this review.

anyone saw grammar mistakes etc.? the guy made the review in a jiffy but you can't tell.

i like the aftermarket cooling part, really helped with the HD 3870x2's confusion.

What I really what to see now is a 4870 crossfire vs 9800gtx sli comparison... I'm not convinced that the 4870 scales as well as sli atm.

Correct, and the main reasons they don't up to 1G is to keep the cost down and that GDDR5 isn't all that plentiful ATM!

How well do you guys think the Accelero Rev2 will cool this card? I have one sitting around and I was thinking about purchasing the 4870 and slapping it on there.

It says on the article that if it fits the 3850/3870, it should fit the 4850/4870. I think they even mentioned that exact cooler too, so I think your in the ok.

*sigh*
Visiontek has a lifetime warranty. Buy from them if you're going ATi.
