Wow.

~80-100% 280GTX performance for less than half the price.

ATI is kicking some major butt.

If that's the case, it seems the 4870 may actually outperform the GT260 for (significantly) less money.... @.@

great price/performance ratio, but i would never buy a next gen card that didn't have at least 1 GB of vram. you need it to use AA at 1920*1200 in dx10 games.

AA on ATI cards is done through the shaders, AA on nvidia cards is done by the ROPs i believe. The amount of RAM has nothing to do with whether you can enable AA or not, just how much it can store for textures (and models?).

I'm a bit sketchy on the facts, but I think you're wrong.

2560x1600=4,096,000 pixels
1920x1200=2,304,000 pixels. Thats 1,792,000 more pixels to render. How would they be similar?

That GTX280 is a real monster as a single card. I'd like to see how two 4870 stack in Xfire against a single GTX280... which is valid for around the same price ...
