New to Overclock.net
|
A new Western Digital Hard Drive.
1TB with 32 MB cache. First Western Digital with these specs. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136284 I personally was planning to get this hard drive.

Still cheaper to RAID two 500GB drives. (or two 640s)
But the platter density should combat it on the tb...close.

i have this drive. It is INSANELY fast for a 1tb drive. I MEAN INSANELY fast. but i paid 250 for it last week :-(

Explains it nicely. I was under the impression that on this TB drive there are less platters compared to two 500gb drives put togeather. Meaning that there is less motion required by the drives' arm in order to obtain a given amount of information.

it is insanely fast for a 1tb drive. once benchmarks are made, ill be glad to show you
