The 8 seconds @ 2.66GHz was faked (The checksum was invalid). It gets 13.9 seconds @ 2.9GHz:
Good call on pointing that out. Seems a bit more realistic now but still pretty fantastic to me.

Good call for you too Where did you see this? I saw .5nm on the intel faq site.

According to the 2.4GHz Nehalem benchmark on nehalemnews.com, SuperPi is seeing a ~13% increase in per-clock performance. This makes sense since SuperPi tends to be very sensitive to memory/cache latency, more than most applications.

Nehalem clocking is actually quite similar to AMD's now:

the superpi checksum system has been broken for quite some time now - the checksum on your pic doesn't work either

Thanks for pointing this out. I wasn't even aware of this since I usually just ignore SuperPi results. I didn't even check either of the checksums myself, I just remember reading that the 8 sec @ 2.66GHz one was invalid.

Either way it makes no difference, because the 13.969 @ 2.9GHz and 17.219 @ 2.4GHz seem much more accurate.
