Youll never use 24gb of ram nowadays,And when the day does come these systems will be in musiems.
As already mention 4gb is max now and that is too much,So Look how long it took to go from even 512mb-1gb Say 3-4 years ago,[And anything over 1gb was considerd to be a luxury.
24gb mybe wont be used for another 7-10+ years or so.

Who ever buys a processor based on what it looks like? Does the appearance of the processor affect its performance?

According to the 2.4GHz Nehalem benchmark on nehalemnews.com, SuperPi is seeing a ~13% increase in per-clock performance. This makes sense since SuperPi tends to be very sensitive to memory/cache latency, more than most applications.

Nehalem clocking is actually quite similar to AMD's now:
As has already been stated, SuperPi's checksum is broken.

Since P4 and Core 3 use Hyper-threading they are the same thing? That is a pretty bad association.

Don't believe all that stuff darkcloud tells you. Not only does Nehalem has many enhancements which will benefit desktop applications it will launch at 3.2Ghz.

Just look at Penryn, all it introduced was more cache and some additional instructions and it is 5-20% faster than Kentsfield.

I said more for servers then to desktops. Yeah it will benefit desktops, but this is the tech AMD already has and we can see it being great for servers, but not so much for desktops. I think Nahalem will yeah not follow in K10's footsteps of failure but it will definitely be a lot more productive in servers then in desktops. Like i said, not saying it won't help desktops, but i don't see it being a monumental leap (compared to servers.)

As in, the price bracket the Q9450 is currently in (2.66GHz), Q9550 (2.93GHz), QX9770 (3.2GHz).

Look at Barcelona's performance (which has the technology Intel is introducing) in server applications, then compare to desktop applications. Barcelona is a great server core, but not so much for desktops.

No, 8GB is the current max (or technically 16GB if you include the 4GB DDR2 stick from G.Skill).

Such small minds people... I'm already using over 4GB of RAM from time to time (hence 4GB would not be enough).

Clearly not the case. If you let the present limit your imagination then technology would never get anywhere.
