3DMark is a synthetic benchmark. A simple driver update can change a score dramatically.

I'd say when ATI update the drivers you'd see an improvement.

1x 4870X2 & a 4850 in CF ...

for my CF board with x16 & x4 slots ...think that would work quite well

do you think my 2180 will bottleneck @ 3.2ghz...?

how much does 1 stock gtx280 get extreme wise? im betting that 8k will be reachable by the looks of things. X2 drivers should improve more than single gpu cards in theory.

8k seems a little high. i got about that on high setting in one of my runs

The x4 slot will bottle neck the 4850 like no other. If you want to go CF, get an X38.
