It looks like it will be limited by the ability exchange heat with the outside air, just like every other cooler in the world!

see i am just worried about the whole thing of a [Dr. Evil parentheses] "Magnet" [/end Dr. Evil parentheses] being at the heart of my precious computer.

start thinking of pc gamers quote of the iron man game... "Tony Stark's worst enemy since magnets"

anywho, enough of that.....
if they have it in a commercial product, and havent fried every single computer they put it in...then most likely it is relatively safe.. but who knows..
might give us all cancer to run that electromagnetic pump..

Excellent. I read about liquid-metal coolers a long while ago (and have seen them made to such a scale that the Alfa-class Russian SSN uses liquid-metal cooling for its reactor), but never thought they'd be made available for consumer use. The electromagnet should be small enough that it wouldn't interfere with any of the other parts, I wouldn't think it needs to be big to make it work in the first place.

They're just more efficient (presumably) heatpipes. Heatpipes definitely do the job, I see no reason why this shouldn't

Still, you don't want the substance freezing and melting every time you turn the comp off/on.

Default [Hexus] Danamics Liquid Metal CPU Cooler

Quote:
The world's CPUs are getting quicker and smaller, but hotter, too. Whilst processor technology moves forward at an increasingly rapid pace, cooling solutions don't tend to keep up.

That, however, could change if Danamics' LM10 CPU cooler can do what it claims. The LM10 is the world's first commercially available liquid metal based CPU cooler, and promises to be an efficient, reliable and scalable technology base for cooling of high heat flux semiconductors.
Source

Seems like an interesting idea, love to see some benchmarks though.
