Not really, it had a new core revision and new board design with improved power section. That was semi-legitimate.

Yeah, I'll give you that. I just didn't believe the naming scheme was appropriate. It's arguable. But this 8800GT -> 9800GT (BIOS flashing) seems a little ridiculous to me.
