Cant wait to get my hands on one of these. I have been waiting to upgrade my graphics card since few months now. I almost got tempted into buying a 4870. I just hope its priced around what a 280 GTX costs. How many more days to the launch of this card?

It's four more days until the official release, but probably a month or so before bigger availability. It'll probably end up a bit more expensive than a GTX280 as I'm sure Nvidia will adjust their prices accordingly. I'm waiting to see the OCed versions of this card with some insane memory speeds!

Would like to see the 4850 X2 compared against it.

Sapphire is the first distributor to unveil it's final design of the HD4870 X2. Those who liked the all-black design of the previously-seen 4870 X2 will be very disappointed because the new card sports a sticker where red dominates with a Lara Croft-like figure à la Sapphire.

This card then loses a part of it's seal with this classic design, but luckily not part of it's performance, with the confirmed clock speeds of 750Mhz on the core, and 3600Mhz for it's 2Gigs of GDDR5 memory, identical to those of the 4870.

Power-wise, consumption is equally-reasonable with only 2 connectors; a 6-pin and an 8-pin, which will power the card in it's PCI-E slot.

A large photo of the card and it's box:

You should place that in your first post instead of the Babelfish one
