hmm do agree the new logos do look pretty sweet,eye catching too. as previously mentioned,not sure why i7.
is it the final product name? i7?

I would have preferred Core3 as well. It's gonna be awkward searching Google for i7 and getting random crap like digital cameras.

I think Pentium = i5, Core2 = i6, Nehalem=i7.

Seconded. Regardless of the inspiration, I love how they thought away from the Core 2 name. It sounds rather appropriate given how much has changed going from Conroe/Penryn to Nehalem.
