Really, if Nvidia screwed up their design on the chip itself that causes problems later on, then they wouldnt really be able to catch that.. Till its too late of course.
Laptop parts are failing not due to design flaw or something, just bad material used for making on-PCB connections between chip itself and something.

It doesnt matter who makes your car they all have thier share of problems infact american made cars are worse Ford and Dodge. My dad bought a brand new 2004 Dodge ram when they came out with that new blue color and in 2006 it started having problems not starting. It finally got to the point where it wouldnt start at all and he had many capable mechanics he knew look at it and nobody could figure out what was wrong. Well he ended up having to take it on a trailer to the dodge dealership and it was there for about 2 months, they even had a tech from dodge come to the dealership and look at it. They tore the entire dashboard out trying to find the problem untill finally they said they didnt know what it was. He made payments on it for 2 years and it was out of warranty so he had no choice but to stop making payments on it. One of the worst things he had to deal with ruined his credit too.

Which is a design flaw... Someone designed it to be that way. Doesnt matter who... But that who is Nvidia.

No you missed my point completely.

I am saying that Customers should NOT have to RMA is the first place in an ideal world. Granted nothing goes 100% right but you DO expect that initial designs are not flawed resulting in the consumer getting unreliable hardware.

Pointless? Yes.

I don't expect there to be ANY problem with ANYthing I buy. But there are problems, not intended, and the way you fix them is with RMA's guranteed through warranties.

This isn't the first time there has been a defective part. Ever had a recall on a vehicle?

Makes sense why they are rebadging all the G92 cores to all the various suffixes. I'm hoping they are smart enough to have fixed and implemented the correct values/materials. As long as they did that, what is all the fuss about.

I think it is funny sometimes how if we have no reason to believe something is broke then it isn't but if someone says and changes belief into suspicion then automatically something is wrong. Just go on as normal as before, nothing new here really, just the volume of items is so large now a days.

I'm supportive of ATI this round, however, I think this guy is just making stuff up now to try to degrade nVidia. I don't see a basis for these accusations. The g84s and stuff in OEMs, etc. has been proven(AFIAK), but people all over this forum have had g92s and g94s going strong since launch at least.

-.-
