yep, it's commonly known that the DFI boards don't like the X2's. There's a rather large thread dedicated to it on DFI-Club forums.
Here and here, and even the 3870x2's.

Man, I used to have a DFI mobo back when I was using an AMD X2 3800+. They are monsters when they work right, but when they decide to get upset, it can be exasperating.
