I've been using a wrt54g router with dd-wrt firmware on it to act as an acess point for my computer and 360. Works perfectly, doesn't require a wireless card for my computer or 360.

you're saying your 360 is wireless - but doesnt have the wireless peripheral? I dont understand what you're saying other then you have a router.

I use my wireless router to receive from another wireless router so that I don't need to run a 30'+ cable. I just use the ethernet ports on the wireless router receiving signals for my pc and 360.

TOTAL = $295

Sure you'll have to do some work to do it and salvage optical drives/OS from an older rig, but it can be done... much better performance and storage space than a 360... not to say that PC > 360, just that a decent gaming PC isn't that expensive if you invest some time into bargain hunting
