http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...6&postcount=44 TBH they were pretty close since the stock plate is larger but has no fins for dissipation. These are just much nicer looking and all around easier to deal with.

Hmm... I would prefer (and pay more for) copper due to how hot the HD4000 cards get. Also since it is a dual slot card to begin with, I would have liked these to be much thicker. Perhaps iandh could release two versions of them?

There's no need for copper or larger sinks. Did you not see the thermal results he did? The temps are perfectly fine.

There was a test early on when I first introduced the 8800GT sinks, and a user actually got better memory temps with my aluminum sinks than he did with the forged copper enzotech sinks. I'm not saying that would happen in every instance, but either way they seem to work quite well.

I have a few questions concering these VRM coolers and whether or not they will help my situation.
I have a VisionTek HD4870 with an Accelero TiwnTurbo and no RAM/VRM sinks on. I had great difficulty putting on the sinks because the thermal tape was of poor quality so they remain without. After monitoring my temps with RivaTuner I noticed my VRM idled at 66C, hit 110C at full load, and peaked at 114C briefly. I am told the critical temperature for the VRM is 110C. I do not feel I can continue to game safely with these temperatures. Will I see a dramatic improvement with these RAM/VRM sinks? What is considered safe temperature for this card? I have optimal air flow conditions in my case and run the TwinTurbo fans at 75%.
