Any idea what the clearance is like with the Thermalright T-Rad? Also, will these fit on a non-reference board, or are the differences usually too much for these to fit?

Very impressive. I may be getting rid of my 4850's and getting just one 4870.

Edit. I love PERTAS', LOL.

Better fix the spelling.

It will clear the t-rad fine. And no it won't fit non-reference boards.

That is what I assumed. I would rather not burn my card alive. So these VRM sinks will fit a VisionTek 4870 with an Accelero TwinTurbo no problem?

Also, should I apply thermal paste on the RAM and VRM if I get these sinks? I just want to make sure they will effectively cool and solve my heating problem before I order.

They should fit just fine, they are pretty low-profile. And always use thermal pads for VRAM and VRMs.

If you have to use a TIM, make absolutely sure that it is a non-conductive TIM.

Any particular thermal pads I should pick up? Preferably any thermal pads that are in stock where these RAM/VRM sinks are sold so I may order them together.

Does Artic Silver Ceramique work or should I go with pads?

http://www.petrastechshop.com/ce25grtu.html

I think I'd rather the pads but thermal tape is the reason I do not have any sinks on my VRM. The thermal tape that came with the TwinTurbo was awful and never stuck.

Ceramique will do fine.

And as for thermal pads, you can just use the ones that came with the stock cooler. It doesn't need to be tape, just pads since the heatsinks are held on with screws.
