Default [TPU] Asus To Release Sexiest HD4850 & 9800GT Yet.

Quote:
ASUS could make additions to its Republic of Gamers (ROG) Matrix series graphics cards with two new models based on the ATI Radeon HD 4850 and NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT GPUs. These cards are peculiar for their dark colour theme, dual-slot cooler design and dynamic performance adjustment features that adjust clock-speeds, voltages and fan speeds automatically depending on load. For the HD 4850, the cooler design comes as a boon, to meet an overclocked GPU's thermal requirements. The 9800 GT matrix card uses a display output connector arrangement similar to that of the older Matrix 9600 GT, DVI + HDMI + HDTV + optical SPDIF (pass) out. while the Radeon HD 4850 based card uses dual-DVI + HDTV composite connector. Official details from ASUS are awaited. For more pictures, please visit this page

Black PCB...FTW

HD4850's the one with the yellow DVI port. Middle pic is also of HD4850.

I disagree. Otherwise evryone would have 'em and then graphics cards with elves, dragons and green PCB's would make the news section.

I wonder what kind of vrm setup and memory setup it will have.

I need the HDTV out and unfortunately the palit 4870 sonic doesnt have one, so I'm looking at the Palit Sonic 4850( I would really like the gainward GS for the better ram but the dont sell it in N. america), the Asus Matrix 4850 or the HIS ICEQ 4 4850.

I have no idea what ram the Asus Matrix and HIS use but the Sonic uses 1.0 ns samsungs(0.8ns on the gainward GS)

I think I want to avoid the reference designs due to the VRM problems that are popping up.
