This is still good considering in old generations Midrange cousl nevr keep up with High end example 2 7600GT never bettert then 1 7900GT or 2 8600GT never better then 1 8800GTS.

so that means the whole range will completely balanced, and going down by £20 or $40 to the lower suffixes won't cost you 20fps in half of your games(thinks of 3600 series compared to 3800s)...

I would never go CF for the same price of one card. I am nvidia fan, but I would rather buy one hd 4850 and have the same performace as with two cheaper cards.

The 4670 is a 3870 with the same number of shaders (320) and hardware AA (as opposed to shader-based AA); the 4670 also has 128bit memory bus, which evens out well considering the 4850 is double the GPU with double the memory bus.

The only thing that makes the 4670 Crossfire stand out in front of a 4850 is the fact the 4670 has higher clock speed 750 core and 1000 memory while the 4850 is at 625 GPU with 993 memory. The core is a healthy 20% faster, which in 3DMark 2006 gives results.

Still, as you said, it would be nice to see some gaming tests (Crysis ) or something we actually play, to see how the 4670 really does.
