This phone is looking awesome. Noise cancelation, 3.5mm jack, awesome battery life, EV-DO, and an amazing screen. Not only is the screen multi-touch and capacitative like another touch phone I won't mention. But it also is "multi-click" which is a never before seen feature. You can touch and you can click. Amazing!
Compared to that phone I won't mention is excels in:

no wifi is a draw back if you do alot of data and they put a cap on the amount you can transfer but the ev-do network is fine for basic emails and such and also verizon is known for pushing its software on its users
and paul the (yeah ill say it) iphone has an ambient light sensor that adjusts the screens brightness unless you are saying this does it better?

I was unaware that that phone I will not mention has a ambient light sensor. Good to know. I am somewhat concerned about Verizon forcing propietary software / control on its users. Most cell phone companies do this and I really dislike it. However I am somewhat optimistic that since this is a high end RIM device marketed to compete with other high profile smart phone Verizon will be more open with the software. There is already evidence of this since Verizon is not locking the GPS on this like they do all other phones. Can anyone speak from experience for the quality of the Verizon network? I am speaking in terms of coverage and speed. See above... This isn't really a big deal as you will always have fast internet with EVDO.

it comes with video standard and I believe this is my next phone. I'm still stuck on my original Env sense December 06, contracts up then and storm will be a nice new phone... As for the coverage of the verizon network.. it's top notch really. When my Env was new I never had under 4 bars and the high speed network is always expanding. I'm just hoping the web surfing on it can match the iphone. The fact it supports java and flash is amazing because usually Verizon bans such things... cuz you can always download java based programs... But it is a blackberry so it has it's own store and resources for advancement outside of Verizon.

yeah that is what i said that the network should be ok for basic web browsing and email it just that since there is no wifi if you download alot of apps and such it will eat away at that 5gb/month rather quickly espically at the beginning when you usually download alot to get everything set up that it may have you thinking again before that 30-day window is up. now if you can download the apps on a computer and then transfer that would work but i am not sure how this works on blackberry. i was surprised as well to see the ambient light sensor in the iphone and it is really helpful. the gps issue is a very good sign but we will have to wait till more info surfaces about how verizon is going to handle it.
