Nvm, I found the explanation.

4830 was 640SP all along (Fud's unreliable on AMD/ATI news).

The 560SP BIOS actually made a 800SP 4850 become a 640SP "4830" (software disabling).

However for the real 4830 chips ATI cut 160 SPs directly (laser or voltage), and used the same BIOS (which should have cut another 160 SPs) again. This time however it went down to 560 (which is weird anyway). Probably some overlap.
