Since its release a couple of months back, the Radeon HD 4870 1GB has very much become the card of choice here in the bit-tech offices. Fitted with twice as much GDDR5 as the original Radeon HD 4870 (which was an excellent card to begin with), the 4870 1GB delivers very clear frame rate advantages in a number of recent games and more than justifies its ten percent price premium over the vanilla 4870 512MB.

Even with the performance boost the Nvidia GTX 260 and 280 have received from the new ForceWare 180.xx drivers, the HD 4870 1GB still remains extremely competitive in the high end graphics market, trading blows throughout our battery of tests with the GTX 260 (216 core version).

Just installed one of these in my cousins new rig last week, it's awesome!

These new radeon's really shine with some AA on.

Yeah ati is really good now

I tried Far Cry 2 with my X2 and when I set 4x AA I only loose 1-2fps

haha allright.

I just got a good deal on a 900gtx + (only had to pay about 50$ when changed my g92 gts), will be intresting to see how it performs.

I know nvidia + AA =

but otherwise it should be pretty good, and should overclock like a beast, since it has got this cooler :

nah dont go for the 9800gtx.. It aint worth upgrading from your card. Get something better if you want to change

1. Its a 9800gtx +
2. My gts is already sold and the gtx should arrive today
3. I don't have the money to upgrade to anything else :S
